Daily Home · Chrome Extension
Privacy Policy
Daily Home is a Chrome new-tab extension that displays user-created shortcuts, weather, wallpaper, and upcoming calendar events.
Information stored
Daily Home stores the following information in Chrome Sync storage when you provide it:
- Shortcut folders, names, and URLs
- Weather location
- Calendar names and private iCalendar feed URLs
This information is used only to provide the extension's features and synchronize its settings between Chrome installations signed into the same Google account. The developer does not operate a separate server that collects or stores this information.
External services
The extension sends the configured weather location to wttr.in to retrieve weather information. For ZIP code 62864, it retrieves weather for Mount Vernon, Illinois from Open-Meteo using fixed geographic coordinates.
When you add a Google Calendar iCalendar URL, the extension requests that URL to display events occurring today or tomorrow. Calendar information is processed within the extension and is not sent to the developer.
Website domains may be sent to DuckDuckGo's icon service to retrieve shortcut favicons. Search terms entered into the search field are sent directly to Google Search.
Sharing and sale
The developer does not sell, rent, or share user data for advertising, analytics, credit, or other unrelated purposes.
Retention and deletion
Settings remain in Chrome Sync storage until you remove them, clear the extension's storage, or remove the extension and its synchronized data through Chrome.
Security
Daily Home uses HTTPS for external requests. Private calendar URLs should be treated like passwords because anyone possessing one may be able to read that calendar feed.
